When you come to Clubco, sooner or later, it will probably lead you to the bar of the Elixiir café. At this spot, which is celebrating its first birthday in Vlněna, you can enjoy not only coffee or a small snack, but also “elixirs” full of vitamins and other substances that support a healthier and longer life. The concept was created by Petra Svobodová, who decided to combine her passion for a healthy lifestyle with business.
“I have always spent a lot of time at work, but also because I simply enjoy it. Many years ago, I started doing a lot of sports for physical and mental compensation and generally taking an interest in my body. I like to pass on what I discover myself. Whether it is personal development techniques, tips for a healthier and longer life, or sharing travel experiences,” says Petra Svobodová at the beginning. You can recognize her lifestyle just by looking at her, as you can often meet her in a sports outfit, with a yoga mat under her arm, or perhaps while running with other members of the local community.

From corporate to own business
She spent eight years in various management positions at O2, and since 2023 she has been COO at Lokal Bakers and also works as a freelance coach and mentor. It was while working with clients that the idea for the next business direction was born in her head. “I coached entrepreneurs and leadership management as well as nutrition. I found that more than 80 % of my clients were dealing with two problems – a lack of protein and time to prepare nutritious meal. I wanted to open a protein bar. But as I continued to educate myself and test other gadgets from biohacking, my business plan began to expand. I also wanted to bring knowledge and products from the field of longevity to people,” she recalls.
When the opportunity arose to open a café right in Clubcu, she didn’t hesitate. “It was the kind of coincidence that doesn’t exist,” she laughs. “Initially, I was interested in the premises for the Lokal Bakers artisan pastry shop. In the end, I agreed to run a café here. I had been dreaming about a café since I was a teenager. Vlněna is the ideal environment for such a project. It is full of young, ambitious people who take care of their health. They are no strangers to the field of longevity. And so Elixiir was born.“

A toast to health and many more years
Elixiir is based on a combination of classic and innovative elements. As Petra says, it is not only a café, but also a longevity bar. Customers come here mainly for coffee from the MOTMOT, a local roaster. Homemade cookies from Amici are also popular. Various food supplements or herbal and vitamin drinks, which gave the café its name, are also available here.
“In July, we also came up with special health drinks. Interest in them is still growing, we have received excellent feedback so far. People like that it looks like cocktails – you drink from champagne glasses, but instead of alcohol, you drink a collagen drink, which will definitely be more beneficial for your skin.”
During the working day, she recommends raspberry elixir, which contains herbs to support mental performance and cognitive functions. Elixiir is a great place to go for something to drink even after training, whether in the gym next door, or maybe after running or cycling. With the change of season comes a change in the offer. In autumn and winter they prepare ceremonial cocoa or drinks with ginger and turmeric.
And before that, we would like to invite you to a celebration! To mark the anniversary of Elixiir’s existence, they are planning a birthday week, from 8th to 12th September. “Every day we will offer customers something interesting and we will end it with a celebration with small catering, a toast and a mini-lecture Tips for everyday biohacking in the city,” Petra invites.

The joys and challenges of running a café
She enjoys the dynamism of the café business and the opportunity to respond quickly to trends in gastronomy and healthy lifestyle. “I see it as a segment with great potential for innovation – from products that support health and performance to experiential service and brand building. There is also a positive aspect of personal contact with customers, which allows for immediate validation of new ideas and the creation of a community that will identify with the concept over the long term.”
The biggest challenge for her is managing growth. “I would like to expand Elixiir to places where it will be more accessible to other residents of Brno and its visitors. I also want to include services related to longevity in the concept, such as various workshops, coaching, or even red light therapy, which I personally really like. I realize that in the café business it is not enough to just have a great product, but it is necessary to constantly work on the team and to ensure that the concept develops and not losing its energy. The café has really advanced my career. I’ve learned a lot over the past year.”
A guide on the way to life satisfaction
In addition to the café, Petra continues to devote herself to coaching and mentoring. “Coaching helps me, for example, in Elixiir’s long-term plans. Sometimes I also use it in my work with the team or customers – when you answer certain questions, information becomes knowledge, and then skill through training.”
Clients come with a variety of issues – from management skills to limits in business to the searching for deeper meaning in career and life. “Work and personal life cannot be separated, even though we often want to. Clients open up with me about unprocessed traumas or family relationships,” she says. “In general, I recommend people to work on life satisfaction, and I see the recommendations that longevity is based on as a beautiful journey. These include conscious activities in the areas of movement, eating, sleep, social life, time for yourself and activities that make us happy, the meaning of life, personal development, and nowadays I like to add a controlled digital detox.”
Brno “městenec”
When we asked about Brno’s gastro scene, she lights up. “I love it here. I’m always trying out new places, dishes and concepts. As a lover of Asian cuisine, I recommend Little Saigon, Domovina or Ca Phe Co. From the cafes, I’d pick Maybe Coffee, Rotatoria or Šílený Myšák… I am a happy Brno resident – I call myself a městenec, a patriot of my city,” she concludes with a smile. I am a happy Brno resident – I call myself a “městenec”, a patriot of the city,” she concludes with a smile.
He helps creators and brands present themselves to the world without fear or overthinking. He produces content for websites and social media, takes photos, shoots videos, and knows how to entertain the people around him. His advice? Start small and don’t rely too heavily on trends. “I would let go of perfectionism. Imperfect now is better than perfect never,” says Filip Neubauer, whom you can meet in Prague’s Clubco.
Filip’s hunger for knowledge, creative mindset, and flexibility have led him to make a living by creating content for entrepreneurs and small brands – and he genuinely enjoys it. “I never had a strictly defined path. I just knew I wanted to enjoy myself and do something meaningful. I’ve tried many professions in my life – from the army, to sales, to fitness training, to running an e-shop, to film production. These experiences gave me the time and space to discover my strengths and how they connect. I believe I’m naturally creative, unafraid of change, technically skilled, and passionate about learning. Most of my previous jobs involved some form of creation – whether it was websites or social media presentations,” explains Filip Neubauer.
Photography and filming started as a hobby. But a combination of timing, demand, and market research helped him turn this “creative combo” into a business. In his view, many people lack the willingness or courage to experiment and improvise. He learned by doing and watching tutorials on YouTube – where he hopes to start sharing his own content in the future.
Freedom, satisfaction and peace of mind at work
He works primarily on a long-term basis with his clients, helping them build their brands and take them to the next level through web and social media content. He deliberately avoids large corporations. “I hate bureaucracy and mechanical processes. With small brands, I have creative freedom, and the work feels relaxed and friendly,” he says, adding that he has never actively looked for clients: “All of my work comes from referrals.”
He has been working for the longest time with trade and business development specialist Filip Soukup, whom he helped build all profiles from scratch. He creates content with him, among other places, in Clubco. Filip also works here with Petr Bernadič, a business strategy and leadership coach. “We were looking for a quiet, flexible space to shoot and work. Since neither of us can use it regularly, it didn’t make sense to rent something private and expensive. That’s why we chose Clubco. It’s car-friendly, easy to park, you can drop in, get some work done, shoot a bit. It’s comfortable. I’ve been coming here for about six months,” he says about the coworking space in Prague – Nupaky.
Authenticity and long-termism
What holds people back from building their personal brand? In Filip’s experience, it’s uncertainty about where to start, camera shyness, comparison with others, lack of a concept or technical setup, and simply not having the time or support. One thing is clear: authenticity is essential. “At least try to get close to it – even if it’s not always possible. Other crucial elements are providing value to your audience, consistency, trust, and relatability.”
Filip focuses on long-term strategy over fleeting trends. “Authenticity is the only thing that sets you apart. Social media often looks like the same thing over and over in different shades of blue. On Instagram, I don’t bother with algorithms or trending sounds. I test different ideas, see what resonates, and adjust my direction accordingly. I prefer a ‘slow but steady’ approach. For clients, good execution and reliability matter more than chasing trends or relying on half-working AI-generated content.”
Show your strengths – without overthinking
So, what makes quality content stand out? “Average content says, ‘Hey, look at me, buy from me.’ Quality content says, ‘I’m good at this, and here’s how I can help you. I’m real, I might even entertain you – and I’m not faking it.’”
Filip also tries to stay true to himself, he doesn’t take himself so seriously. “I don’t have much time to post on my own channels. My clients come first. But I already have a plan in mind for future content – sharing my journey with overthinking and fear of putting myself out there. I want to help others create and maybe entertain them a bit too – because that’s who I am.” And once again, it all comes back to authenticity…
“I wouldn’t think about things so much, I would let go of perfectionism. I say this as someone who struggles with it myself (laughs). Clients need someone to pull content out of them, support them, guide them,” he says. “Start small. All you need is a phone and a Bluetooth mic. Imperfect now is better than perfect never.”
Doubt is normal – it always has been and always will be. There will always be someone with better content, more reach, or more advanced technology. “It’s important to know who you’re here for. Often, the ‘perfect’ content comes from people who’ve been creating for ten years or have a whole team behind them. You can’t just throw money at gear without a plan. That’s why it’s crucial to start small, explore and grow. Many people want huge brand deals right away – but that’s not how it works. I started with the jobs no one wanted, and now I have meaningful relationships with my clients. They work with me because of how I am, how they feel with me,” he says. At the end, he answers the question if he has a dream project or client. “His name is Filip Neubauer – the blacksmith’s mare,” he laughs.
He has years of experience in the world of sales and team management, which he now passes on to other entrepreneurs. But even he got burned in the beginning. “I ran a business while I was still in school and ended up in a seven-figure loss,” says Petr Bernadič. Although he is not a “paper” member of Clubco, you can sometimes meet him in Nupaky, where he prepares summer courses focused on business and leadership.
“A salesman is not an enforcer. A professional does not only look at the fact that he has to sell at all costs. He looks for whom his solution makes sense and helps the client make a decision – quickly and clearly. Even “no” is better than endless ‘I’ll think about it’,” explains Petr during the interview, while sipping tea from a Star Wars mug that is not missing in almost any of his videos. “First of all, it’s big – I hate small teacups. And I’m also close to science fiction and fantasy with their worlds and stories, which for me are not only about entertainment, but also about principles, values and deeper ideas that can be transferred to life and business.”
The age of pot sellers may be (hopefully) over, but the distrust of “those who offer something” persists in the Czech Republic. While in countries such as Spain or Italy, the trade profession is perceived as prestigious, in our country many still rather dishonor it and see no added value in it. “Multilevel, a sell-to-everyone approach, hasn’t helped. But that doesn’t work. Each product has its own target group,” he adds.
Learn to talk about what you do
Anyone can learn to sell, according to Petr. It depends on how much energy they put into it. The myth that sales is only for extroverts is not true. On the contrary – systematic, prepared salespeople with respect for the client are much more in demand today than those who rely only on charisma. “They are consistent, they know why things work, and they can improve. The charismatic ones don’t work on themselves as much, they are too sure of themselves. There are always new situations, new markets, new challenges. And when you feel like you’ve got it all down to 100%, I think that’s the road to hell. You stop learning and you get lazy.”
For introverts, preparation is key. It also helps to have visual, ideally interactive, materials ready. When working with tools like Prezi or Miro instead of a traditional presentation. What we often lack, according to Petr, is the ability to talk about what we do. “People feel they can talk about their business – until they have to say it out loud. It helps to practice: at home, with colleagues or perhaps at networking events where there is a safe environment and feedback.”
Alongside the art of expressing yourself, it’s good to understand context. It’s not enough to know the product in detail. It is more important to understand the person’s business, their needs and the impact of the solution. Also important is the ability to guide the client through the strategy step by step – from defining expectations to deciding what’s next. What the company can offer also has an impact on the business. “Today it is important to have well prepared documents, tools and support. A salesman can’t be a great copywriter, creative strategist, empathetic negotiator and AI expert at the same time; they can’t think and do everything themselves. The company should therefore leverage the strengths of the trader, but at the same time provide him with an environment in which he can be successful,” says Petr, noting that the financial side also plays an important role. “When a trader doesn’t have his needs covered, he gets stressed and drained, often making mistakes or acting unethically just to close a deal.”
First impression and personal brand or Don’t be an idiot
Work on how you impress your clients too. But not too much. First impressions are important, but they should be natural. “There is no need to be falsely positive or overly warm. If I walk up to a company director and start smiling excessively, it will come across as untrustworthy. It’s better to be naturally attuned, and more importantly get to the point quickly. Clients today don’t have time – they want to know what’s in it for them,” he explains, disapproving of the saying “our customer, our master”, as the relationship between client and supplier should be balanced, a partnership.
How big a role does the product or service play and who sells it? “If I sell a stupid solution, it won’t get results. Sometimes I would advise salespeople to turn their backs on certain products. If I sell something I don’t believe in myself, the customer will know it. On the other hand, even a great product needs a good strategy,” he says and agrees that a personal brand is also important. “People are increasingly buying from those they trust. If a retailer builds its reputation over a long period of time, doesn’t sell stupid stuff and behaves fairly, trust transfers to the products. Today, it is not uncommon for people to buy things just because they were recommended by someone they follow and respect. As I sometimes say, to run a successful business you just have to be cool in the long run and not be an idiot. Over time, the results will come.”
From fuckup to the mindset of a marathoner
He is not afraid to talk about failure, after all, he also performed at Fuckup Night in the ICUK in April. At twenty-four, he ended up with a business in the seven-figure loss. “It was an extremely challenging period. But it was also a turning point. I got clear on what was worth working on and who I wanted to work with.”
Working with his own mindset is key for Petr and he recommends it to others. “After my business failure, I needed to change my mindset. I used to operate very much in waves – big momentum, results, but no stamina. Through endurance sports such as longer runs and triathlon, I learned to do things consistently. Not just when I have the energy, but also when I don’t feel like it. I went from hating running to running 16 half marathons, three marathons and a half Ironman. And what you learn on the track carries over into business.”
Stay on course
Although Petr Bernadič is not a regular member of Clubco, his coworking space in Nupaky near Prague is a place he likes to return to – whether it’s for shooting content, meeting clients or the atmosphere. “It has everything you need – space, quiet, good coffee. It’s a great concept for those who don’t need their own office, but want a quality facility.”
In addition, he is preparing two two-day workshops for the summer, which will focus on the topics in which Petr most often helps his clients: business strategy and leadership.
“The business workshop is for those who want to learn new approaches, tools and technologies – and apply them directly to their business. The one on leadership then focuses more on leading young teams and modern ways of motivating them.”

The courses are accredited under the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs’ “I’m on Course” initiative, so participants only pay around 18% of the cost, with the rest covered by the grant. “This is a great opportunity for smaller entrepreneurs who might not otherwise be able to afford similar training. It’s also a chance to get to know other entrepreneurs.” He also mentions that he is considering fall dates and a workshop designed specifically for Clubco members.
At the end of our conversation, we asked him what advice he would give to someone who is afraid of selling and feels like a bad salesman. “I would find someone to help me. Often people don’t see their value on their own. The ideal is to have people from different fields around you who share ideas and motivate each other. And that’s what coworking spaces like Clubco are absolutely perfect for – you can meet, have a coffee, discuss business and recharge your batteries.”
Brno’s Clubco in Vlněna is opening a professional podcast studio with new premises, which was created in cooperation with Detail Studio. It connects entrepreneurs and content creators in a unique environment where they can easily implement their media projects. We talked to its co-founder Lukáš Brázda about what the studio will offer and what are the trends in the podcast sphere.
“The collaboration was created in the fall of last year, when Adriana Sniegonová, Head of Coworking, approached me to find out what was needed to create a podcast studio,” says Lukáš Brázda, CEO of Detail Studio, which is located near Clubco. “It made sense for us to join forces. Clubco has a strong community of entrepreneurs and creatives, so we wanted to create a space that would allow them to create podcasts easily and professionally. Together, we came up with a concept that combines modern technology, accessibility, and connection with the community.”
What was the biggest challenge in the project?
To build a space that would be technically cutting-edge, but also friendly for beginners. We didn’t just want a “room with microphones,” but an ecosystem that would help people develop and monetize their podcast.

Could you tell us more about the technical equipment of the studio?
We use all the equipment from the RØDE brand in cooperation with DISK from Boskovice – RODECaster Video, microphones, RØDECaster Pro mixing console. Professional acoustics are provided by the guys from Ekustik, who equip studios all over Europe. As one of the first in the Czech Republic, we will use a special acoustic textile that guarantees top-notch soundproofing while not disrupting the design.
In addition to audio, we offer the possibility of recording video podcasts, creating video reels and live streams. The studio allows recording from up to four cameras, which is great for dynamic editing. The space has a light and dark corner to create visually different videos.
What other services do you offer?
Interested parties can choose from a wide range of services – from studio and equipment rental to post-production, editing, graphic design, animation and content strategy. We offer various packages depending on what the client needs. The prices are more favorable for Clubco members.
Following the opening of the studio, we will organize workshops focused on podcasting, marketing and storytelling at Clubco. For example, we are collaborating with Radek Petráš, who will lead a rhetoric course. The content of the workshops will focus not only on the technical side of podcast creation, but also on content strategy and brand building.

What makes a podcast high-quality? What mistakes do novice creators make?
A high-quality podcast relies on good dramaturgy and processing. Post-production and high-quality sound are important. It is good to have a clear introduction, structure, point and summary. Beginners often make mistakes in distribution – they release their podcast late at night, use hashtags incorrectly, do not create shortened formats for social networks or do not use collaborations with influencers. There is a lack of regularity, which is key for listeners.
I am observing the return of video podcasts. Why are they so popular today?
Video podcasts are popular, among other things, because they can be used to create shorter formats for social networks (reels, shorts), which help grow the audience. YouTube also supports long formats and brings closer contact with the author. It is also a space for discreet branding – from clothing and props to sponsored products.
Is a podcast a suitable tool for building a brand?
Definitely yes. It is a powerful marketing tool that is used not only by individuals but also by companies. A well-run podcast can build a community, trust and loyalty to the brand. However, a podcast may not be suitable for some people – for example, if they do not have enough time or a clear strategy.
Which Czech podcasts do you listen to?
I like listening to Pavel Procházka’s podcast, which brings practical experience in the field of sales, leadership and personal development – it is great for anyone who wants to grow not only in business but also in life. Another favorite is Vinohradská 12, which is one of the highest quality Czech news podcasts, which goes in-depth and gives context to current topics. And if I had to recommend something for binge-listening, it would definitely be “Matematika zločinu” – a brilliantly crafted series that will draw you in and show how Czech justice works (or doesn’t work).
Which brands or platforms do you think can inspire podcast creation?
I am inspired by projects like Forbes and Red Bull, whose podcasts connect business, innovation and storytelling. A great platform for content creators is Forendors, which connects creatives with brands and helps monetize creation.
What do you expect from the future of podcasts?
Trends show that video podcasts, interactive content and AI in post-production will play an increasingly important role. Podcasts are not just about sound – they are about building communities and valuable content.
The opening of the studio in Clubco brings a modern space for podcast creation to Brno. Whether you are an experienced creator, a company looking for a new way of communicating, or an enthusiast who wants to get started, Clubco & Detail Podcast studio will provide you with professional support and support.

Since its opening in 2021, the Clubco coworking center in the Vlněny area has become a popular place for freelancers, startups and companies. It currently has eight hundred members. After its last expansion in 2022, Clubco is growing once again – this time bringing new spaces and exciting additions. Adriana Sniegonová, Head of Coworking, told us more about them.
Clubco in Brno originally originally spanned three floors, covering 2,000 square meters. In 2022, it expanded by another two floors of the same size. “Once again, we’re adding 2,000 m²,” says Adriana. “We’re introducing more private offices, which are in high demand – not only from our current members, who are scaling their businesses, but also from external clients looking for coworking spaces. Our existing offices are already 90% full. We’re also significantly expanding shared spaces, which will be open to all members,” zooms in Adriana Sniegonová. The new expansion will offer 171 fixed office spaces and up to 100 shared workstations.

Members can also look forward to three meeting rooms, two focus rooms, a private event space with an 80-seat capacity, and two outdoor terraces. “We’re adding a relaxation zone with ping pong and PlayStation as well. Although we already have an outdoor street basketball court and a gym next door, we lacked a space within Clubco for quick breaks and relaxation,” Adriana adds.
A place where stories are told
One of the most exciting additions is a new podcast studio, designed to serve not only Clubco members but also the public. “Since Clubco opened, some clients have occasionally brought their own equipment and turned a meeting room into a temporary studio. Others, like our regular members, have even recorded audio podcasts in phone booths. While that works, we knew we could take it to the next level,” Adriana explains.
That’s where the idea for a fully equipped podcast studio came in, created in collaboration with Detail Studio. “When one of our members introduced me to Lukáš Brázda, I initially just wanted to learn what it takes to set up a podcast studio. But I quickly realized how much more we could do – offering professional-level production and audiovisual services that go beyond just recording. Even with an in-house sound engineer, our team wouldn’t have been able to provide that level of quality. So, we decided to partner with Lukáš and create the Clubco & Detail Podcast Studio. We’re currently building the space, Detail Studio will supply top-tier equipment, and they will also manage the studio’s operations. Everything should be ready by the end of April, and we’re planning a launch event – stay tuned for more details soon.”
Clubco members will enjoy special pricing on studio services, including a 50% discount on video podcasts and 30–40% discounts on services like post-production, graphics, and animation elements. Additionally, Detail Studio will host podcast and public speaking workshops, which will be free for members.
Before the studio officially opens, Clubco is offering early-bird discounted packages that combine coworking services with studio time or public speaking workshops. These are available through a Donio.cz campaign, where 10 % of the collected amount will go to charity. “We want to give back, so after the campaign ends, our community will vote on which charity projects the funds should support,” Adriana says.
And what about Clubco’s own podcast? “Yes, we’re planning one. We’re still in the early stages, so I don’t want to make promises just yet. But with such an amazing studio at our disposal, it would be a shame not to use it. Our podcast will feature Clubco members, partners, and industry experts bringing valuable insights to our coworking community.”
Networking, yoga or enriching workshops
Clubco is more than just a workplace – it’s a community. Members can connect not only over coffee in the kitchen but also through regular networking events. Every Monday starts with a yoga session. A workshop Minute speaker is also held here once or twice a month, where one Clubco member is guaranteed free participation every time. In collaboration with Rebelbean Café, Clubco also hosts coffee cupping sessions, where one spot is always reserved for a Clubco member for free.
From the spring program, which is partially open to the public, here are a few highlights:
- April 23 – Members & Partners Meetup to celebrate the expansion
- April 25 – Gophercamp Conference
- May 14 – Freelance On The Road meetup
- May 17 – Openhouse Brno
“That’s not all,” adds Adriana. “Already at the turn of this year, the fourth Clubco branch will be added, again in Brno – this time in our industrial complex CTPark Brno. As part of the new Clubhaus community centre, Clubco will be building a space there which – as is our custom – will offer modern coworking facilities, offices, meeting rooms and event space for up to 100 people. While the podcast studio is new at Vlněna, here there will be a new LabSpace – a place where members and the public can bring their ideas and projects to life. They can look forward to services such as 3D printing, metalworking workshops, specialised workshops or a space for collaboration and innovation. But more about that next time.”

In the ten years of its existence so far, it has reached the market in sixteen countries, with more than six million customers and a turnover of four billion, it is the number one among Digital first fitness companies in the Czech Republic. It is headquartered in Košice, but a team of over six hundred employees works from different corners of the world. You can also meet part of the GymBeam team in Clubco.
We bet most fitness and healthy eating enthusiasts know GymBeam. The company, which was founded by Dalibor Cicman in 2014, specializes in the sale of sports and health nutrition, healthy foods, sportswear and accessories. It has more than 120 brands and thousands of products in its portfolio.
From home and the world, from the office and cowork
The company has its headquarters and warehouses in Košice, but you can find people working for GymBeam in all countries where the company operates. “A large part of the marketing and IT team works remotely, from home or, in our case, from a cowork. Since we are from different countries and in different parts of the world, we are of course connected online. In places where more employees are concentrated, we have coworking spaces available – for example Clubco in Brno, but we also have coworking spaces in Bratislava or Prague. So colleagues who care about personal contact or don’t like working from home have the opportunity to go to a cowork – and of course to the headquarters in Košice, where we are all always welcome.” describes Alexandra Hudáková, who works for GymBeam as an Online campaign specialist. Her specialty is e-mail marketing, i.e. creating and sending out newsletters. You can meet Alexandra together with other colleagues in Clubco in Brno.
The first one from the team who started using Clubco for work was Markéta Tesařová, a nutritional therapist and fitness trainer who has been working as a full-time copywriter at GymBeam for more than three years. Together with other colleagues, she writes articles on blog, prepares texts for products for the e-shop, for social networks or creates scripts and accompanying texts for YouTube videos. “I started on a 40-hour hot desk. I was no longer comfortable working from home every day, so I started looking for coworking opportunities. Clubco impressed me with its modern spaces, accessibility from the center and also the community atmosphere that prevails here. I went 1–2 times a week to the open spaces on the ground floor. Thanks to the fact that I am used to working quite early in the morning, I could choose whether it would be from an armchair, a box or small glass offices. I still value these opportunities to change the working environment.”
Office privacy, inspiration and a second home
When Alexandra joined her, they switched to a fixed desk. With another colleague, a copywriter Zuzana Gáliková, it made more sense for them to move to a smaller office on the third floor. “However, the team of colleagues from GymBeam who live in Brno or nearby and would like to use coworking opportunities was still growing. A four-person office was no longer enough for us, so we reached an agreement with Vojta (Head of Facility Maintenance Vojtech Laczkó, note ed.) moved to the current office on the second floor. Currently (in ten people, note ed.) we are extremely satisfied here, the office is beautiful, spacious and bright. We also like the second floor in that we have an overview of what’s going on in Clubec and there are lots of different seating areas, including a wonderful terrace.” adds Markéta.
Zuzana appreciates the variable work environment and 24/7 access. “Given that Clubco is in the center of Brno, I see the possibility of renting a parking space in the underground garages, which are directly part of the building, as a great benefit.” adds the copywriter Simona Svobodová. “I like the space of the entire Clubco, which really inspires and motivates me. When I need peace, I close myself in the privacy of the office, for inspiration and relaxation I like to use shared spaces, the kitchen, armchairs and in the summer, the terrace. I especially like the community events here. Thanks to Clubco, we got to know many members. Clubco is truly my heart and second home,” Alexandra says with a smile.
Alexandra met many members at Prosecco meetups. “Sometimes my colleagues also keep me company, but I don’t mind going there alone because I know I won’t be there alone. I already know enough people in Clubco who also go to meetups, as well as the Clubco team, so I’m not afraid that I won’t have anyone to talk to. We also attended several lectures, mostly about a healthy lifestyle, or I go to ‘flea markets’. I plan to get involved in blood donation as well. What I would welcome is, for example, a marketing workshop or networking, where the majority of participating Clubcars work in marketing. Contacts in this area and new inspiration always come in handy.”
An interest in a healthy lifestyle is only an advantage
GymBeam naturally connects people with an interest in nutrition and fitness. For example, Simona describes that a deeper interest is important for her work as a copywriter. “Thanks to this interest, I am able to convey relevant information, for example, to readers of our blog or to customers as part of product descriptions. We do not want to pass on unconfirmed information or half-truths. At the same time, it is necessary to keep up with the times and respond to current trends in the fitness world. In addition, of course, it is also necessary to orient yourself in EU directives and to be able to search in professional texts. If a copywriter has these skills, there is a good chance that he will share the same values as us in this area and fit in well with the GymBeam team.”
And how does a person educated in the field of nutrition evaluate the refreshment options in Clubco and its surroundings? “I have to admit that I bring my food in boxes from home. I have a milk allergy, so it is more difficult for me to eat well. But sometimes my colleagues and I go for lunch to the opposite Grand Kitchen, where they have a nice selection of daily menus. If I don’t choose from the menu, I go to the Grab&Go section, where there is a salad bar and also a buffet with hot food. As a nutritionist, I have to appreciate the offer of vegetable and legume dishes here. At Clubco Café, it’s nice to have smaller meals, like a sandwich or a protein smoothie,” comments Markéta.
If you want to prepare a balanced snack for work, according to Markéta, you can never go wrong with wholemeal bread, coated with ham, cheese and vegetables or white yogurt with fruit and nuts. It’s also nice to have a protein bar, a packet of natural nuts, or a good quality dark chocolate on hand in case you get hungry during the day. “In addition, chocolate has stimulating effects due to its high cocoa content, which is really useful during busy working days. Just be careful with the dosage, 1-2 squares of chocolate are enough.”
Plans and news in the portfolio
The company’s vision is to be a global eCommerce platform that will be a leading provider of functional foods, sports nutrition and accessories. “We strive to have the widest possible portfolio of products in as many European countries as possible. It is therefore essential for us to enter new markets and secure a position there as a stable player, ideally a leader, as soon as possible. For example, this year we are focusing on the DACH region. We are also constantly developing and adding new goods of our own brands to the assortment and keeping an eye on affordability for our target group, which is growing more and more,” approximates the goals of the marketing communication leader Vendula Resová and reveals more about the news in the portfolio and its planned expansion. “In addition to comfortable sports and leisurewear, you can also look forward to new healthy food items such as the stuffed protein croissant (the first batch sold out within days) and the Italian toast bread, which we believe will be a hit. We will soon introduce new raw bars. You might also be interested in the news of our XBEAM brand. It is profiled as a brand for e-sports players, but its products have a fine-tuned composition that will be appreciated by managers, programmers, in short, anyone who needs to kick in the brain, reduce fatigue and exhaustion, and help in stressful situations.”
“I can’t do it. I don’t have the talent for it.” Let those who have ever thought such a thing come forward. But ask yourself – are you focusing more on what you are not good at or are you strengthening your strengths? And do you even know your talents?
“Something doesn’t work for you because you have a predisposition to do it in a different way. It’s natural for you,” explains Markéta Gabzdyl Tichá. As a certified coach of Gallup CliftonStrentghs methodology she supports people in developing strengths and helps them find ways to compensate for weaknesses. At the same time, she is the founder of the Cloud 9 Institute, where they focus on the well-being and development of employees.
Searching for solutions
Markéta likes to simplify complex things and find ways to solve something. In elementary school she wanted to be a teacher, later a humanitarian worker, and in college she became passionate about coaching. “I enjoyed talking to people, finding out how and what they think about, what they enjoy, what they would like to improve. I spend most of my coaching time in executive coaching. And a lot of clients come to me because I’m a very creative person who always comes up with some other ways we can look at the issue.”
She used to work in a corporation. “I was very satisfied at IBM. Nobody expected me to quit. I had a kind of inner tension, I wanted to devote myself fully to coaching. I became a freelancer. I founded the Cloud 9 Institute because I began to realize that I have no chance of covering all the topics that clients come to me with.”

Like on a cloud
If you are on “cloud number 9”, you feel extremely happy. The Cloud 9 Institute also strives for client satisfaction and well-being, whose team organizes workshops, development programs and Health Days for companies. “I feel that awareness of this topic is increasing. In the beginning, we were lucky to come across several enlightened people in various corporations, without whom we would not have been able to spread enlightenment there. There are more such people in companies today.” Well-being has recently been given more emphasis, but at the same time it is the first area to be cut in case of any changes in the budget. “For companies, it’s a nice to have, not a must have. At times when there is a need to cut back, for example during events such as covid, we feel it.”
Discover your strengths and believe in them
In 2021, Markéta became a Gallup certified coach for working with strengths and CliftonStrengths methodology included in the Cloud 9 Institute offer. Thanks for the CliftonStrentghs test you will clarify which talents you have and how strong they are (e.g. for Markéta, so-called Ideation comes first, so she is very imaginative). Based on what you are good at and what you know, you can develop further. This will make you more efficient and satisfied. “Using the methodology, we can read that someone is great at rules, principles, processes… Another person will hate it and it won’t work for him/her, but maybe it’s natural for him/her to go out into the field, talk to people, get information from them. But it will be difficult for him/her to record the information in a system. That’s why it’s great when such people complement each other. But it certainly does not mean that they should not learn something from each other. We look at what that person is likely to be inclined towards, what ways of doing, acting and deciding, and how they can do that as much as possible to use their strengths to the greatest possible extent.”
Empower the strong, look for partners for weaknesses
Thanks to the test, you will gain insight into yourself and also a lot of practical development tips, which, according to Markéta, will be enough for five years of development. “Definitely strengthen what you’re good at first. If you are passionate enough, you can try to develop yourself based on the test results. If you are not from the population of people who can work on themselves in this way, whether short-term or long-term, it is advisable to have someone who can read the result, go through it with you and point out some aspects of development.”
Methodology clearly names the weaknesses and helps to find a way to compensate for them to the extent that they do not hold a person back. Keep in mind that trying to move a given (in)ability up the spectrum can exhaust you unnecessarily. Rather, look for someone around you who can do the thing and delegate it to them. Or look at your talents and abilities to replace it.
Women of Impact
She is currently preparing the fourth series of the educational podcast O talentech s Markétou (About talents with Markéta). Cloud 9 Institute has opened registration for the next run of the NLC leadership program for women. As part of special activities for the institute’s tenth anniversary, they are preparing workshops for the spring with an American coach who worked directly for the Gallup company. “For me, the greatest gift during the company’s existence is that our team does not change much. According to Gallup research, one of the hallmarks of top teams is that they are a magnet for talent; people want to work on that team. And I think that’s us. When we ask someone if they would like to work with us, they are excited. Furthermore, it makes me very happy when clients tell us that we have changed their lives. It’s not a little.”
In Clubco almost every day
Markéta found her way to Clubco three years ago. “The meeting rooms here are suitable for us as a company that is in the field a lot, doing coaching and workshops. I decided to close the office we had before, it didn’t make sense for us.” She spends time at Clubco almost every day, meeting clients for personal coaching, or organizing a workshop or lecture. At Clubco, she values freedom, friendship, humanity and trustworthiness. “I also know the strengths of the team here because they did CliftonStrengths test,” she notes with a smile. Community is important to her. “How it is possible to build it in such places. The energy, ideas and thoughts of the different people we can meet here intersect. We have several clients here, not only in Clubco, but in the entire Vlněna complex. But many people probably don’t know about us, because here we only use the meeting rooms and we basically move in the basement. (laughs) That’s also why I want to start going more, for example, to networking events,” she says at the end.
